CinemaBlend seeks an enthusiastic entertainment fanatic for a freelance news writing position who is plugged into the industry. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated wordsmiths with up-to-date knowledge of the entertainment industry and an appetite for movies and entertainment. This is a freelance position with room to grow.
We’re looking for someone who’s up for writing on a variety of movie, TV, celebrity and streaming-related topics, has a good sense of humor, pays attention to details, and writes with a fun, conversational tone. We’re also looking for someone who is able to write on weekday afternoons (or mornings into afternoons if you are on PT time), and any weekend availability is a bonus!
Other things to know about the position:
- This is a freelance telecommute position for a news writer who’s open to writing about a variety of topics within entertainment.
- Freelancers are paid a per-article rate.
- This is a news-writing position, with potential to expand into editorial later on.
- Journalism degree not required.
- Some writing experience is required. We will want to see published articles from an online outlet, preferably related to movies or TV.
- We expect a quick turnaround on all article assignments, so we’re looking for someone who’s good with details, knows the industry and can submit clean copy.
- Hours of availability will be flexible.

- We’re looking for a minimum of 25 submissions from you a month.
