Position Snapshot

  • External Nestle UK&I Media Relations Executive - 18month FTC
  • Location: Flexible – York or Gatwick, Head Office (Hybrid working)
  • Salary up to £22,000 plus potential bonus + fantastic benefits

A day in the life of a Media Relations Executive

The successful candidate will be exposed to a variety of stories, issues and opportunities as you help other press officers with both proactive and reactive media relations as well as being responsible for organising suppliers, databases, calendars and other tools as well as writing briefings, summaries and reports.

  • Act as first point of contact for Nestlé press office, taking phone calls and e-mails, dealing with them at source where possible and directing more complex enquiries to other team members as appropriate.
  • Create regular reports, coverage packs and briefs for internal stakeholders. Help to organise media monitoring and analysis working with agency to provide insight and critical updates to rest of the business.
  • Create and deliver PR materials, including press releases, with reference to (and support from) and other press officers
  • Own and manage various team systems, databases, shared folders, calendars, meetings and assets on behalf of the entire press office
  • Manage roster of key suppliers, photographers, videographers, graphic designers, freelancers etc. support with hiring, relationship management and procurement
  • Draft news stories for Nestlé website and support with day to day management of site and social media channels
  • Manage the administration of key PR events, including product-drops, journalist out-reach, filming, tours and press calls/conferences

What will make you successful?

You should have a good understanding of the UK media landscape and a natural interest in current affairs and news media. You will have a natural news sense and be able to identify and develop a story. You will be motivated and driven by deadlines and completing work to a clear timeframe in both your communications work and your training. You will need excellent organisation skills, a strong work ethic, a talent for multi-tasking and high standards of written English. You will need to be IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You will be good with people and able to build relationships with others across a wide variety of teams and functions across the Nestlé business. An interest or expertise in social, digital media, graphic design or video editing would be advantageous.
