Contract: Part Time

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the design team to develop innovative and appealing homeware product concepts that align with the brand’s vision and target market, including cushions, throws, candles, and other relevant accessories.
  • Create detailed sketches, technical drawings, and specifications for homeware products, incorporating personalisation techniques to provide a unique and customisable experience for our customers.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to source high-quality materials and ensure the feasibility of design concepts. Help in sourcing specialist suppliers to meet specific design requirements.
  • React to sales information and design commercially relevant, fashion-forward ranges that resonate with our target market.
  • Research new technical/fabric/trims and integrate them into product designs to stay at the forefront of industry trends.
  • Stay updated with current and future trends in the homeware industry, including colour palettes, patterns, and textures, and present these ideas to the team for consideration.
  • Design with an awareness of brand pricing structure, margins, and target market to ensure our homeware products are accessible and profitable.
  • Work closely with the lead product designer and product manager to ensure collections are planned effectively for upcoming seasons, taking into account the inclusion of cushions, throws, candles, and other accessory categories.
  • Review competitors and trends to propose additional accessories categories that can be added to our collection, expanding our range of homeware products.

Skills Required:

  • 3 + years of experience working as a homeware designer
  • Fashion/jewellery/accessories/homeware design degree or similar.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • In-depth knowledge of homeware design trends, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for colour, texture, and pattern.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of homeware design concepts and completed projects.
  • The ability to read and interpret sales data and translate them into your designs
  • The ability to work independently on projects
  • Awareness of the latest trends and ability to spot trends early.
  • An interest and understanding of our target market.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • High energy, motivated to be the best at what you do.
