Contract: Temporary, Part-time

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • High taste level and heightened sense for current and upcoming trends.
  • Research and identify trend directions; perform competitive analysis; pull and review fabrics, design concepts, presentation boards for meetings, mock-ups, color-ups, and inspirational photos.
  • Design according to style plans, sales needs and emerging trends; ensure timely execution of product development calendar.
  • Illustration and flat sketching,tech pack creation and follow up.
  • Select and review fabrics and trims; ensure maintenance of fabric/trim library.
  • Approve lab dips with department manager and ensure consistency with color standards; review prints and graphics where appropriate and advise revisions
  • Troubleshoot sample issues and identify solutions.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Design or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 1+ Years of professional design experience
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe products
  • Superior communication skills with team members, factories and vendors
  • Creativity, and sensibility for merchandising; ability to sketch
  • Technical capability, proficient understanding of construction and expression of fit.
  • Extensive knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, silhouettes, color ways, sewing techniques, fabrication and trim; familiarity with print design and manufacturing
  • Ability to critically think/problem solve
  • Highly organized and methodical. Attention to detail is paramount
  • Natural curiosity and desire to learn
  • Strong working knowledge of garment construction

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
