Design Assistant Level I
Job Summary:
Design assistants will be provided with opportunities for learning and development within a small residential design studio. They will assist designers with tasks as needed. Regular weekly job duties will be expected to be completed but job duties will also vary from week to week. Room for growth within the company is available.The Design Assistant will report directly to Chad and Amy, owners/designers.
Commitment:
Approx. 20 hrs per week
Contract/Freelance Position
Pay:
$19-25 per hour - To be decided based on experience
Please note this is a 1099 contract position.
Requirements:
- Must have a degree from an interior design program. (Graphic design, architecture, project management, and fine arts programs will considered as well, but design program is preferred)
- Travel to our home office, job sites, and occasionally Phx is required.
- Must have own laptop with ability to use CAD and Sketchup
- Must not be afraid to jump into a task and possibly get your hands dirty with installations, organizing jobs, etc.
- Must be able to use AutoCAD and SketchUp and have examples of work.
- Must be able to use photoshop and all microsoft or google suites programs. Proficiency is not required, but a good understanding and familiarity is needed.
- Must be familiar with using instagram and/or tik tok
Job Duties:
- Material library organization
- Order samples
- Set up trade accounts with vendors
- Call vendors for lead times and pricing
- Marketing (taking photos and videos for social media, posting on social media, help with blog posts, help with creating fliers for various marketing materials.
- Accompany us to photoshoots (this is a really hands-on process so need to be able to dive in and not be afraid to get your hands dirty)
- Accompany us to client meetings if schedule allows
- Project management; track packages, schedule deliveries, follow up with customer service.
- Create proposals, invoices, and purchase orders.
- Communicate with clients via email and phone
- Set up new projects in our invoicing system
- Create option packages and design boards in google pages
- Pick up and drop off product returns
- Update leads data on spreadsheet
- Send out hand written notes to clients and manage client gifts
- Manage Etsy- Photograph, edit, post, ship
- Job duties are not limited to the above described

- Self starter; be able to jump into a task without a ton of direction, take risks, and try new things
- To be able to take direction and constructive criticism well
