Position Summary

  • Three (3) temporary hourly-intermittent bridge student assistant positions in the Warrior Cross Cultural Center.

Start Date

  • Position available on or after August 14, 2023 and ending on or before May 31, 2024. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

Job Description/Duties

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Warrior Cross Cultural Center’s programs and services including cultural and affinity programming, LGBTQ+ programs, the Male Success Initiative, and Undocumented Student Services office.
  • Assist program coordinators and faculty fellow with event planning, co-facilitating of activities, event set up, event take down.
  • Assist with outreach efforts on campus such as; tabling, pop ups, short informational in person or virtual presentations, and department tours
  • Assist program coordinators with creation of event planning materials such as; creation of flyers, promotional posters, agendas and other marketing materials required for event/activity.
  • Responsible for monitoring study space and Community room during open study lounge hours Foster and cultivate a sense of belonging, inclusivity, and community.
  • Greet, direct, and assist visitors and guest.
  • Assist in providing general information or referrals as required.
  • Help keep track of daily walk ins.
  • Perform general clerical support, to include, but not limited to, word processing, filing, phone and email correspondence, copy-making, and data entry.
  • Ensure the study area, and community room is neat, clean, and presentable.
  • Assist with troubleshooting for technology issues in CommUnity Room
  • Attend Diversity trainings, staff meetings as requested. Process and route mail and deliveries to the department and other various departments
  • Assist with promotion of social media accounts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates the availability to work some late evenings (4-8pm).
  • Must be Responsible and Dependable.
  • Knowledge of social media and zoom.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and respect towards diverse populations.
  • Ability to work a few mandatory Saturdays throughout the year.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to take initiative on certain projects.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office, Windows, Internet, general functions of e-mail.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills (ex: phone, in-person, email).
  • Must be professional and be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic.
  • Quick-learner.
  • Critical Thinker.
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates the willingness to accept constructive feedback.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
  • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.

Salary Range

  • $15.50 per hour
