Job Description:

Encore Vocal Ensemble seeks a pianist with excellent accompanist skills who has the desire to become an integral part of our small treble choral ensemble musically and socially. Our director works best in collaboration with the accompanist, with both investing their skills and experience equally.

Availability:

We have a choir retreat Aug. 11-13, 2023; weekly rehearsals start Aug. 29, 2023. Rehearsals are Tuesdays, 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Winona Grange, in Tualatin Oregon. On weeks the accompanist rehearses with the choir, they will be contracted for one and a half hours, 7:30 - 9:00 pm.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate is $35.00 per hour for rehearsals or performances.

Scheduling:

Our accompanist is needed at every rehearsal the first 4 weeks and last 4 weeks of every season, plus at performances. Mid-season, the accompanist schedule is intermittent weeks, determined with the accompanist’s needs and desires taken into consideration.

Repertoire:

The majority of the repertoire is generally at college level of difficulty. The 2023 Fall season repertoire includes “A Ceremony of Carols” by Britten, and songs by Eleanor Daley, Dan Forrest, and Caldwell and Ivory. The accompanist is most welcome to sing with the ensemble on a cappella numbers.
