The Job:
amika is seeking a talented digital art director to join our in-house creative team. Reporting to the Creative Director, you will help lead the creation of digital content and assets across a wide mix of projects and campaigns.
This candidate needs to have a good eye, high taste level, and passion for culture, digital trends, and social storytelling, while also being able to effectively multi-task and manage multiple timelines in a fast-paced environment.
As a team leader and contributor, this person develops collaborative relationships across the entire marketing team, as well as a solid understanding of various digital marketing platforms and how to effectively develop creative content optimized for each platform, including web pages and graphics, social media advertising, and display ads.
You will also help with day-to-day design direction for a junior digital design as well as various freelance support, while also playing a key role in setting and implementing design directors across the brand.
location: must be local to Brooklyn, NY (will be required to work in studio on occasion & conduct press/proof quality checks)
salary: $120,000 - $145,000 + benefits
what youโll do:
- Support the Creative Director in concept & idea generation of digital collateral, including seasonal campaigns, emails, paid media, ecommerce and social assets
- Help lead digital storytelling across all customer touchpoints; ensuring brand and message consistency throughout the consumer experience
- Design in a digital/mobile first mindset
- Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with ecommerce, marketing, social and other departments whose activities intersect with creative
- Create low-fi in-house content across photography and video to support social initiatives
- Art Direct on set across campaigns, video, social and ecommerce shoots
- Forward-thinker who is an expert in social media with proven ability to use emerging technology to create disruptive and exciting creative.
- Work closely with the assigned Copywriter on the project and help oversee that the art direction is executed across campaign touchpoints
- Concept still and motion imagery, communicate vision through sketch/storyboard and swipe, and partner with the production team to bring that imagery to life.
must-haves:
- Bachelors degree required. Marketing/Design Major preferred.
- 6-8 years relevant work (and internship) experience.
- Retail and/or Ecommerce experience required.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suites: Photoshop and Illustrator as well as Figma
- Motion animation and/or video editing skills would be a plus.
- Creative mindset with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be a team player with a strong work ethic. Works well with others.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible under time requirements and changing deadlines.
- Strong commitment to prioritization of timelines, accuracy, organization, and professionalism.
- Dedicated commitment to deliver on all project deadlines.
