The Role:
We are seeking a C# & .NET developer to join the London development team. The role will primarily be focused on Middle Office development. The Development team is responsible for building out the next generation of highly scalable, reusable and performant distributed services and applications for Caxton users. You will evaluate and use the latest .NET and open-source technologies to deliver, maintain and enhance new and existing applications. You will work closely with the Middle Office teams across London and New York.
The successful candidate will have:
- Significant active software development experience using the .NET stack and C#
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable unit-tested code
- Experience using architectures such as SOA, 3-tier applications and Client-Server
- The ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and priorities
- Some experience working with financial products and market data (e.g. Bloomberg, Reuters)
Requirements
- Experience of building real-time software
- Strong knowledge of C#
- Strong knowledge of the full .NET stack version 3.5 and upwards
- Experience with Visual Studio 2017 / 2019 / 2022, Nugget packages
- Good experience of Test-driven development, Unit testing, Mocks
- Use of unit testing in conjunction with refactoring
- Good knowledge of OO and functional design patterns
- SQL development experience (e.g. MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle)
- Experience of relational database schemas
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
- Creative problem solver and excellent teamwork skills
- Knowledge of finance, markets, and the operational process of trading securities
- An understanding of financial market data
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or a related field
- Displays and operates at the highest degree of ethics and integrity
