Position Summary
The Web Developer is responsible to the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing. The position is part-time for 15 hours a week. Depending on the candidate selected to fill this position, there might be additional duties which could be assigned by the Marketing Coordinator to convert this position from part-time to full-time. The Web Developer is responsible for maintaining and updating the HLGU website. This position has been authorized for remote work.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the creation of digital content for the website.
- Assist the Marketing Coordinator in designing and implementing the company’s digital media plans and strategies and achieving digital marketing goals and objectives.
- Establish, update, and improve our brand presence through the HLGU website.
- Create and edit all forms and form-based content for the University.
- Maintain and manage HLGU website.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Marketing Coordinator.
Departmental Relationships
The position of the Web Developer requires a working relationship with all departments on campus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be able to effectively plan and meet multiple deadlines and high-pressure timetables.
- Must be able to take directions and follow through on tasks. Must possess good initiative and the ability to work without close supervision.
- Experience with WordPress and certain plugins.
- Experience with web design and content management.
- Must demonstrate excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Must be creative and have excellent communication skills.
- Must be a team player who has the good of the organization at heart.
- Must have values consistent with the mission and purpose of Hannibal-LaGrange University.
- Must agree to, sign off on, and abide by the standards of employment at Hannibal-LaGrange University on the yearly contract located in the staff handbook.
Education, Experience, and Training
- Preferred to have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. A degree with emphasis in web design or digital media is preferred. Portfolio of past work is requested.
- Preference will be given to Hannibal-LaGrange University graduates.
- 3+ years of experience in web development.
- Ability to write and edit content for the website a plus.
