Contract: Part Time

We are seeking a freelance temporary Photographer for our Chicago office. This role is responsible for photographing all items sold at auction (including fine furniture, decorative arts, fine art, and other valuable objects). Photographers create images that are used for printed catalogues, online catalogues, and all other promotional materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Photograph items for upcoming auctions
• Ensure all images meet the company’s standard for quality and consistency
• Work closely with the Director of Photography and Denver team to prioritize tasks

Successful candidate will possess:

• Bachelor’s degree in photography, or 1-3 years of professional photography experience
• Experience photographing products on white in a studio setting using monolights/strobe lighting
• A professional digital SLR camera with zoom lens
• Proficiency with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop CC: working knowledge of layers, masks, color correction tools, actions, batch processing
• Ability to maintain high quality while executing high volume of images under very tight deadlines
• Capability to work efficiently and independently, showing creativity and innovation
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic attitude
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Interest in Art and Art History
• Availability August through October, 3 days per week, 24 hours per week
