Job Description

Recruiting project-based/freelance copy editors for forthcoming titles.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review, edit, and proofread manuscripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, clarity, and consistency by deadline.
• Perform edits in Microsoft Word using the Tracked Changes feature.
• Ensure manuscripts follow MLA format (9th edition) and in-house style guide.
• Collaborate closely with authors, providing constructive feedback and suggestions to enhance the overall quality of their work.

Requirements:

• Possess excellent attention to detail and successful organizational skills.
• Proven work experience as a Copy/Line Editor or in a similar role.
• Have exceptional grammar skills and a basic aptitude for proofreading.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with authors and publishing team members.
• Passion for the occult and a commitment to maintaining accurate, respectful, and ethical representations of esoteric knowledge.

Additional Information:

• This position will require working closely with remote team members.
• Flexible work hours may be necessary to accommodate project demands and deadlines.
• May occasionally be required to work under tight timelines and handle urgent editing tasks.
