The Position:

This role entails scoping, scheduling, sourcing, and providing hands-on support for the development of various assets that will aid customers in selecting and utilizing Hooker Furnishings products. Responsibilities include concepting, planning, and executing photography for new and existing products, encompassing lifestyle and studio photography, as well as CGI. Additionally, this position involves managing brand creative aspects such as graphic design, email creative, signage, and copywriting while adhering to brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage content and creative for selected Hooker Furnishings brands.
  • Handle image management, including organization, naming, tagging, storage, and distribution, using a digital asset management system.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify new product photography requirements.
  • Lead pre-production planning, including creating shot lists, developing mood boards, scheduling showroom/studio photography, procuring product samples, ensuring product accuracy and alignment with brand standards, and providing on-set styling assistance as needed.
  • Oversee shot schedules and on-set activities for all showroom and studio productions, proactively anticipating challenges, resolving issues, managing expectations, and fostering consensus throughout the process.
  • Manage post-production efforts for photography and video, including scheduling retouching, graphics/animations, and editing, as well as routing proofs and cuts for feedback and approval.
  • Act as producer and point-of-contact for external photo/video productions, handling contracts, budgets, purchase orders, and accounts payables.
  • Coordinate print planning and production for look books, sales catalogs, sales prints, etc.
  • Supervise catalog layout, scheduling, and product information accuracy for all print and digital collateral.
  • Write and direct product romance copy for marketing collateral.
  • Assist in the development of email creative when needed.
  • Aid in showroom product printing and tagging.
  • Familiarity with creating realistic, modern 3D lifestyle renderings for new and existing products using Hooker Furnishings’ proprietary software.
  • Support pre-market marketing needs, including signage and collateral preparation.
  • Strengthen existing photography vendor relationships and establish new ones as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with factory vendors through our teams in Asia for silo photography, ensuring accurate color quality control.
  • Communicate expectations, dates, and milestones with cross-functional teams and vendor partners regarding all physical and digital collateral.
  • Establish recommended timelines and budgets from conception to delivery for all projects, consistently tracking progress and clearly communicating deadlines, updates, variances, and progress.

Candidates who will be a great fit:

  • Possess 5-7 years of experience in managing and executing product photography.
  • Have a creative mindset and excel in storytelling and bringing products to life.
  • Show interest and passion for interior design, furniture, and/or communications and marketing.
  • Will collaborate with creative leaders and external vendors to plan and organize efficient and scalable productions.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities, capable of discussing technical, artistic, and design-related topics to gain alignment with stakeholders.
  • Have some graphic design experience, including proficiency in tools like Canva, Adobe Suite, Lunacy, etc.
  • Having knowledge of CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) software use for 3D modeling and room scene rendering a major plus.
  • Have experience using project management and data management software such as SAP, MS Project, and Salsify.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and self-motivation, proactively seeking out necessary information.
  • Keep up to date with marketing, industry, and lifestyle trends, staying informed about social media, influencers, and developments within the home and interior design space.
  • Is willing to travel as needed. Hooker Furnishings has showrooms in High Point, NC, Las Vegas, NV, and Atlanta, GA.
