Contract: Full-time, Contract

Job Description:

The Freelance Designer will design and develop Pet and some Home Products. Responsible for developing trends, color, fabrications, silhouettes, for upcoming season as well a working with the China office to develop original textiles and patterns.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain an awareness of current market trends in Home and Apparel and incorporate this knowledge into new designs.
  • Coordinate with Product Managers to understand and address requirements for customers, pricing, construction processes and materials.
  • Engage in ongoing research and development of new inspiration and ideas utilizing relevant new finishes, colors, and fabrics, and key techniques.
  • Apply creativity and originality in group and individual brainstorming sessions to generate new ideas.
  • Create silhouette, fabric and construction specifications that are sent to factories to use for product development. Prepare art with necessary specifications of color and repeat so it can be used for fabric mass production.
  • Review and revise the design of factory samples to conform to specifications and cost.
  • Execute final artwork for presentations to the customers.
