The Root of It helps people to understand the causes of difficulties someone is experiencing and helps to address them. They use a number of brands to achieve this, such as The Mentoring School, the Mental Health Awards, the Association of Mental Health in Education amongst others. So far, our work has influenced the lives of over 10 million. The Marketing, Sales and PR Executive helps our team to make a difference to more people.

Using your skills in Wordpress, you will maintain and improve our 15+ websites to ensure the best possible UX. You will work with other team members, such as the CEO, to ensure websites are engaging, easy to navigate, up-to-date and reflect inclusive practice.

Job Description

• Develop and update websites using Wordpress, WP themes and WP plugins;
• Ensure brand consistency across all websites;
• Ensure high levels of UX;
• Ensure that information, advice and guidance on websites can be easily navigated and accessed;
• Work internally with the CEO, the marketing and business development teams;
• Produce content, such as graphics or videos for the websites;
• Add content, such as written, pictorial or video, to websites within timescales;
• Use software, such as Canva or Photoshop, to produce assets for websites;
• Produce help files for websites as necessary to support UX;
• Manage time effectively to ensure that all websites are up to date;
• To undertake any other duties as required.

Personal Specification

Qualifications

• Educated to at least GCSE (A-C) level or equivalent in English and Maths.

Skills and knowledge

The Front End Web Developer must demonstrate:

• Their knowledge of Wordpress CMS and related themes and plugins;
• ability to produce a website consistent with a brand;
• preferably the ability to create and edit graphics and videos;
• written communication skills;
• their enthusiasm;
• a hard working attitude, that they are prepared to put that extra effort in to make sure a job is done right first time;
• an ability to work under their own initiative;
• dedication;
• good listening skills;
• good time management and organisational skills;
• a flexible approach;
• ability to work in a shared space with others.

Salary: £22,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
