Bumperactive.com Custom Stickers + Tees is hiring (1) hard-working, team-oriented merchandise printer to join our Dye-Sub department.

Bumperactive is a Progressive and Union (Communications Workers of America Local #6132) print shop in North Austin. While we are a full-service retail printer for anyone who needs top-quality custom stickers, tees, signs and other promotional products, our largest business area focuses on building and administering print-on-demand online storefronts for a wide range of clients, from political campaigns, community organizations and podcasts.

Summary

This is an entry-level position, requiring little to no experience in inputting, operating or producing promotional goods and merchandise. This position learns standard printing and production workflow as well as basic printer and machine maintenance.

Primary functions of this position are to prepare, produce, and package mugs, koozies, apparel, and other merchandise through the dye-sublimation production process. This requires operation of computers, office printers, wide-format dye-sublimation inkjet printers, high-temperature ovens, various heat presses, and various cutting tools. As needed, the associate will help organize and perform inventories.

Employee skills include a high attention to detail, organization, strong focus in a fast-paced production environment, and ability to perform repetitive tasks. People who succeed in this position are efficient, “crafty,” and enjoy working with their hands in a fast-paced environment. Although job duties will vary from day-to-day, hires for this position should also be comfortable performing a series of fairly repetitive tasks for several hours at a stretch.

• Operates various types of printing and production machines, including maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting, and general operation with corresponding Raster Image Processing softwares.
• Proper handling, preparation, production, labeling, and packaging of mugs, koozies, and other merchandise through dye-sublimation modes of production, such as baking and heat-pressing.
• Basic understanding of how to use all cutting tools.
• Can read and decipher barcode labels.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and best practices.
• Inspects produced goods to evaluate quality of printing.
• Consistent ability to meet deadlines, goals, and production quality criteria with an organized and efficient workflow structure.
• Ability to accurately judge and adjust color values for quality and color-matched prints.
• Basic Google Office usage.
• Maintains a clean workspace and area around printing machinery.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work environment

• Working near moving mechanical parts

• Constant working interactions with Hot printing machines
• Working in temperature fluctuations from extreme heat (summer) to extreme cold (winter) in the office and on the production floor

Physical demands

• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs frequently.

• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces daily.
• Repeating motions and tasks that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers on a daily basis.
