Commune is seeking a contract Media Manager for a role that bridges strategic thinking with hands-on client facing execution, and also shapes and directs the way Commune and its clients connect with audiences across the entire media landscape. Reporting directly to our clients is a big part of this role, so we also need you to show our clients (who are not number nerds and are often non-media natives) fresh media approaches, and clear paths and indicators of ROI.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of comprehensive media strategies that drive brand awareness, engagement, and conversion for clients across a range of Commune client business and industries.
- Collaborate directly with our clients, strategy, and creative teams to understand business goals, target audiences, and messaging objectives, translating these insights into effective media plans.
- We expect you to stay up-to-date with platform and industry trends, new and emerging technologies, and consumer behavior to recommend innovative media strategies that maximize ROI for our clients.
Media Planning and Campaign Development:
- Research and identify suitable media channels (traditional, digital, social, etc.) to reach target audiences effectively.
- Create detailed media plans, outlining budget allocation, ad formats, scheduling, and performance goals.
- Develop compelling and relevant ad creatives in coordination with our creative teams to ensure alignment with the overall brand messaging.
Media Buying and Optimization:
- Execute media buying activities across various platforms, negotiating optimal rates and placements to ensure efficient use of budgets.
- Monitor campaign performance in real-time and implement data-driven optimizations to maximize key performance indicators (KPIs) such as impressions, clicks, conversions, and ROI.
- Utilize analytics and reporting tools to generate performance reports, highlighting campaign successes and areas for improvement.
Client Engagement and Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding media strategy, progress updates, and performance insights.
- Foster strong client relationships by providing strategic recommendations and maintaining clear communication throughout the campaign lifecycle.
- Work closely with creative, account management, and analytics teams to ensure cohesive campaign execution and achievement of client objectives.
Budget Management:
- Manage media budgets effectively, ensuring proper allocation and adherence to client spending limits and strategies.
- Provide accurate financial forecasts and budget reports to clients and internal stakeholders that show direct and clear lines to ROI.
Qualifications:
- Education in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related fields.
- Proven experience (3-5+ years) in media planning, buying, and strategy, preferably within an agency.
- Strong understanding of the rapidly changing social media landscape, various media channels, including digital, traditional, social, and emerging platforms.
- Proficiency in all major media buying platforms and ad management tools.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make actionable recommendations for optimization.
- Strategic thinker with a creative mindset, able to develop innovative media approaches that we, or clients have not yet thought of that drive results.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment made up of a small, very focused team.
- Strong negotiation skills and very high attention to detail.
