Neko Productions - 2D Compositing and Motion Graphics Artist

Neko Productions is an animation company in Sherman Oaks, CA that produces a vast range of projects from TV and digital content, games, short films, and much more. Our team is looking for a 2D compositing artist with the ability to work with motion graphics.

All applicants must be proficient in After Effects and Photoshop. Must have an in-depth understanding of motion; a sensibility for design, timing and composition; camera movements; effects; an in-depth understanding of how backgrounds, characters and props interact in space effectively convey story points.

You do not have to live in Los Angeles to apply- remote applications will be accepted.

Responsibilities:

• Comp 2D shots using After Effects
• Follow the animatic for timing and composition
• Sound judgment as well as an understanding of story, design, and abstract motion graphics
• Follow the visual language already established in the series
• Follow naming conventions and organize files according to company guidelines
• Good communication skills and adherence to deadlines
• Create final, fully composited, colored, props and graphics based on provided storyboards
• Strongly developed critical eye with attention to detail
• Applicants must be able to follow the schedule set by the production team
• Proficient in motion graphics and how text/ logos should move on screen – must be able to create graphics that are clear and legible
• Ability to understand and respond well to feedback

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in After Effects is required
• 3+ years of experience required
• Online portfolio/demo reel must be included
• Previous experience in a television animation environment and knowledge of a studio production pipeline is highly valued
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work, take notes, and receive constructive criticism within a team-oriented environment
