Job Description:

Florys Online is in search of a Part-Time Junior Product Designer to join our team. As a Junior Product Designer, you will play a key role in refining our product designs, brainstorming new concepts, and assisting in the product development process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Designs: Our Solar Wall Plaques/ Wall Art - new designs are constantly requested so you would be creating new solar plaque designs based on popular requests!
  • New Product Ideation: Contribute to brainstorming sessions and assist in developing fresh product ideas in line with market trends.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Getting prototypes and mockups made for new product concepts, and making necessary adjustments based on feedback.
  • Market Research: Stay updated with industry trends and competitor products to inform your work.
  • Overseeing the entire product development lifecycle: overseeing projects from design to production, ensuring quality standards are met. Taking on the responsibility to push the design or product forward.
  • Research: Helping with the research for manufacturers or suppliers needed for any processes we cannot do in house.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for Design and Creativity: Your passion is your biggest qualification. If you’re a creative thinker with an eye for aesthetics, we want to hear from you.
  • Basic Design Skills: Familiarity with design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar) is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Attention to Detail: We appreciate the finer things in design, and we know you do too.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Great ideas are born through collaboration, so being a team player and an effective communicator is key.
  • Product Design Experience: While not required, any prior experience in product design or related coursework is admirable.

Most of all we are looking for an enthusiastic with a positive and motivated attitude to welcome onboard to our close knit - team! We are a fast growing business who has very little turnover of staff, therefore we are looking for someone with long term views. This is a part-time position, offering flexibility with approximately 20 Hours per Week. Due to the part-time nature of the position, the pay will be prorated accordingly.
