We have a current opportunity for a Technical Lead - Automation on a 6 month contract with a well established public sector organisation. The position can be based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Job Description

A technical lead with solid commercial AWS development experience is required to accelerate Registers of Scotland’s move towards Land Register automation. The focus of this work will be to lead the continued R&D activity to prototype an automation risk assessment ruleset that will assess submitted deeds for suitability to automate.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead the development of solutions that meet key automation challenges:
• OCR and lexical analysis of deed document content to assess automation risk. Requirement for automation technical lead services
• Lexical analysis of Title Sheet content to interpret unstructured textual content that will support automation of more complex casework.
• Automation of wet signature check using appropriate document analysis and AI ML techniques.

• Research and development of novel solutions that enable RoS automation goals
• Building and maintaining an agile culture of continuous delivery and improvement, with a focus on frequently releasing high quality, tested, working software
• Collaborating with colleagues from Product Management and Architecture to prioritise the backlog by providing insight into the architectural roadmap and the technical benefits that changes will achieve.

Role Requirements

• Significant commercial experience with the following technology:
• OCR and lexical analysis techniques including NLP and ML
• AWS including:CDK, Serverless (Lambda), S3, API Gateway, Cloud Formation and Aurora/Postgres
• Typescript / Python
• Significant and demonstrable commercial experience in the following areas:
• Designing, gaining consensus, and implementing technical solutions for software development projects.
• Technically leading a high-performing, cross-functional development team.
• Working in Agile delivery models.

Role Details

• 6 month contract
• Glasgow or Edinburgh based
• Hybrid Working (2-3 days a week in the office)
• £500-£550 per day
• Outside IR35
