The Miami HEAT Broadcasting team is seeking a Production Assistant! The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating various aspects of broadcast production as assigned by the Executive Director and other members of the Broadcasting Department. The Production Assistant will assist the broadcast production team in the preparation & execution of the game broadcasts as well as with various broadcast-related projects as assigned. The position has a strong focus on editing materials and fulfilling various footage related requests for the broadcast.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serving as the production assistant on television broadcasts (games, pregames, postgames, specials)
• generating & editing content; coordinating with other department members on items needed, crafting music cue sheets, making broadcast content available to various social media & web platforms; searching for broadcast footage and preparing highlight clips for broadcasts
• Logging various highlights, melts, xfile footage, NBA footage as needed
• Downloading footage from NBA Digital Media Management systems
• Downloading footage from FOX or current broadcast partner servers as needed
• Transfer of historical aircheck and melt footage from older formats to current optical formats
• Editing pieces as needed for broadcasts – including practice/postgame sound, promos, features,
• Applying videographer skills on various broadcast shoots if needed
• Working with editors and various broadcast staff members to prepare materials for games
• Working with staff on assignment of and completion of broadcast projects & assignments
• Attending and giving ideas and feedback during staff & departmental meetings
• Working to build graphics for edited pieces including Adobe Photoshop, illustrator & after effects
• Assistance with the completion of various broadcast department tasks as needed and assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a 4-year college or technical school; Very organized and meticulous. Able to meet tight deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced, fluid environment while balancing multiple tasks at once. Must be proficient in Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects. Editing experience on AVID or comparable editing software. Prefer experience as videographer.
