About the Job

FIBC Music Ministry is seeking an Instrumentalist/Primary Drummer to join our team. The position reports to the Minister of Music and will interface regularly with other music staff members, praise leaders, and the congregation.

Non-exempt

Goal/Objectives

  • Work directly with the Minister of Music and Choir Director in implementation of all goals and objectives
  • Follow the Vision and Purpose of FIBC
  • As assigned, accompany designated choir/s, praise team, and ensembles, including but not limited to:
  • Regularly scheduled worship service
  • Special worship services
  • Rehearsals (including special rehearsals)
  • Other performances/outside engagements as assigned
  • Attend music staff meetings, monthly worship ministry meetings, quarterly church meetings (if required)
  • Communicate, report equipment maintenance needs

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Must possess strong commitment to Jesus Christ
  • Ability to play instrument effectively
  • Meet the basic qualifications for church leaders and officers (if applicable)
  • Provide leadership and worship support for worship services
  • Ability to read music (desired)
  • Must pass background check (If required to work with children/youth)
  • Be an active member of FIBC or local church

Work Conditions

  • Sitting and standing
  • Dependable transportation needed
  • Will be required to travel to various offsite ministry events
  • Weekly Commitment: 10 hours (will vary)

Regular Ministry Schedule

  • Thursday – Praise Team/Choir Rehearsal
  • Saturday – Musicians rehearsal (as scheduled)
  • Saturday – Men of Praise Choir rehearsals
  • Saturday - Children/Youth Choir rehearsal (as needed)
  • Saturday – FIBCAC rehearsals (as scheduled)
  • Sunday – Worship services
