Job Description
There could not be a more exciting time to join the women’s professional game in England. Off the back of the England Women’s team success at the UEFA EURO 2022 and their subsequent silver medal at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, the top two English leagues - the Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) and Barclays Women’s Championship - are growing at an unprecedented rate. Attendances in the Barclays WSL were up +170% in the 2022/23 season and the opening weekend of the 2023/24 season saw a record-breaking 54k fans watching Arsenal vs. Liverpool at The Emirates. This role is therefore a hugely important one within the Women’s Pro Game (WPG) Marketing and Communications Team. Our Content Producer will plan, produce and distribute industry-leading content to maximise the growth of the Barclays Women’s Super League, Barclays Women’s Championship and The FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup across all owned and operated channels. Delivery will be in part through our incumbent social media agencies - therefore we are looking for someone who can both lead, inspire and manage agencies whilst also bringing their own creative ideas to the role. This role is advertised on a fixed term basis for up to a period of 12 months.
Responsibilities
- Lead on managing all aspects of our social agency relationships (feedback, briefing, holding creative sessions etc).
- Bring your own individual creative and original thinking to bolster the creative output of our agencies.
- Work closely with the FA in-house video team to plan industry-leading content to be distributed across social media and website.
- Lead on content creation live at matches and at ad-hoc partner events including on weekends and evenings.
- Support on paid media campaigns for season-long content plans.
- Form part of cross-functional working groups to ensure our content supports wider business objectives.
- Build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders such internal Brand, Communications, and Commercial teams to share content plans.
- Support the FA’s broadcast team in delivering value to our official broadcast partners by signposting opportunities to watch matches on linear and digital television.
- Identify opportunities to move users from social media to our OTT broadcast solution, The FA Player.
- Work with the (Commercial) Branded Content team to produce content that promotes The FA’s commercial partners in a way that will engage, entertain, and inform our fans and followers.
- Lead on reporting of channel performance and make strong recommendations to achieve growth KPIs.
- Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
- As part of The FA’s commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.
Requirements
- Essential for the role:
- In-depth knowledge of the women’s football landscape.
- Excellent organisational skills in relation to the planning and delivery of a social media calendar.
- Experience in all aspects of social media agency management.
- Strong evidence of creating engaging, entertaining, and informative content.
- Clear understanding of the social media landscape, including emerging trends and future opportunities.
- Previous experience in a professional sports environment.
- Knowledge of social media analytics, including key metrics and knowing how to use them to measure performance.
- Experience of working as part of a multi-functional team to achieve mutual aims and the organisation’s objectives.
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
- A storytelling ability and news sense.
- Ability to manage a large digital community and ability to seek out any potential reactive opportunities.
- Beneficial to have:
- Experience working for a brand or publisher.
- Strong understanding of paid social media advertising.
- Proficient user of image-editing software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop).
- Proficient user of cloud-based video-clipping software (Grabyo).
- Confident in front of the camera.
