Product Designer is needed in India.

Client: Utilize

Location: Remote

Contract: Contractor

Overview:

  • We are hiring a Product Designer for our new product NotionApps (www.notionapps.com) - a no-code tool to build apps from Notion data.
  • We are looking for someone with a knack for good aesthetics. The role is apt for you if you are looking to be part of a 0-to-1 journey to use your design and problem-solving skills.
  • We expect you to have (some) prior experience in UI/UX design. You should know how to break down the product requirements, do the required research, and provide multiple design versions and prototypes. Also since we use Figma internally, we expect you to be comfortable with it.
  • The job is contractual and fully remote (we are based out of Bangalore so if you are around and would like to, we’d be happy to sit together sometimes)

What are we building?

  • NotionApps (www.notionapps.com) is a no-code tool to build apps from Notion databases in just minutes. One can start with own data or clone an app template, and configure what data is shared with each user… Apps can be customized with login, menus, lists, forms, and 25+ components.
  • We launched the product this year and got 1400+ signups and early customers in just a few months. We are currently running new product experiments, adding new features and improving the design of the tool so that we can grow 10x in the coming months.
  • Our early customers use the tool to build apps for various use cases - some popular ones include, directories, client portals, field apps, community hubs, job portals, internal dashboards, etc.

What is your role?

  • Improve the builder experience to make it simpler and faster to create an app.
  • Improve the app experience to make it easy for end-users to use the built apps.
  • Make the current builder and end-user UI responsive for screens of all sizes.
  • Provide and maintain high-fidelity mockups, documentation, and other design assets for the product.
  • Collaborate with the tech team to ensure smooth delivery of new features and improvement.
  • Redesign the landing page and website of the current product, from insights gathered from our leads and customers.
  • Understand popular design systems like Material, Antd and research other no-code tools, and use the learnings to improve familiarity in the tool’s experience and reduce the learning curve.
  • Create new landing pages for our new product experiments.
  • Provide any other creatives required in product and marketing.
  • Attend to any other UI/UX improvements from customer feedback.
  • Stay on top of new design developments and industry trends.

What do you get?

  • Competitive salary. The exact salary will depend on your availability, skill level, experience, and what you bring to the table.
  • This is a remote, contract job.
  • The role can be part-time or full-time depending on your availability.
  • Timings are flexible. Most work is asynchronous, so no boring meetings.
  • If everything goes well, an option to join the core team and build a bigger company.
  • Work expects a lot of ownership, this might not be a perk for everyone but we would love to have such folks on the team.
  • By now you know the team is small, you will be working directly with the co-founders. They are happy and cheerful most of the time and when they are not, they prefer weeping in private. So that’s a plus.

What are we looking for?

Must-have

  • Successfully delivered UI/UX projects in the past.
  • Strong knowledge of Figma.
  • Basic knowledge of Notion.
  • Can autonomously produce mockups and creatives in a quick turnaround time that meets quality guidelines.
  • Enthusiastic about UI/UX and anything design and proactively seeking to keep up with the best design standards.

Nice-to-have

Experience designing SaaS products or no-code products.

  • Built products/apps with no-code tools.
  • Additional skills in illustration design and video/audio editing.
  • You have experience working together with tech teams.
