ROLE: Freelance Junior Multimedia Designer

The Freelance Junior Multimedia Designer is an entry-level graphic design craftsperson who is driven to create high-quality, consistent, on-brand multimedia content across digital platforms. This person is a strategic design specialist, able to combine graphics, stills, animation, and videos for a consistent user experience regardless of the media placement. They stay up-to-date on technology in the ever-changing world of digital possibilities while pushing the envelope on the design tools available now.

• Working on an in-house or client-side creative team, as a graphic or motion designer
• Social and digital platform expertise and best practices

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Crafting hard-working, on-brand images, animation, and video across social and digital platforms within proper specifications
• Understanding the creative and strategic differences when designing for different platforms (Meta vs. Pinterest vs. OLA for example)
• Developing content in collaboration with other designers, copywriters, and strategists
• Attending kickoffs, reviews, and other meetings as assigned by your teams
• Cultivating design excellence and precision - attention to detail regarding platform specs and best practices, brand guidelines, colors, fonts, etc.
• Staying up-to-date on program advancements and new tools as required by clients
• Collaborating with clients and their internal teams to provide consistency and quality across different business groups
• Delivering a highly-crafted, high-quality product consistently

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Portfolio of multimedia samples or relevant creative work, showcasing experience in the social and digital spaces
• Artistic with a keen eye for aesthetics and visually-appealing content
• Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Media Encoder; Premiere and Animate a plus)
• Fluency with GSuite (Slides, Google Drive)
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Effective handling of multiple assignments in a fast-moving environment
• Comfortable with and receptive to feedback; desire to quickly address feedback
• Highly detail-oriented
• BA/BS degree in Graphic Design, Motion Design, Multimedia Design, or a related field
• While Trade School is a remote-friendly workplace, this Junior Multimedia Designer position requires a hybrid work schedule, including occasional in-person internal and client meetings and possible work travel
