We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Senior Data Developer in our Data & Development team.
Who are we?
We want to be the best place that any of our 6,800 colleagues have ever worked. We’re the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirement business. We offer our 12 million customers products across our market-leading brands, including Standard Life, SunLife and ReAssure, with c.£259 billion of assets under administration. We’re a FTSE 100 organisation that is tackling key issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050, and we’re not done yet.
The role
You will be joining a great team of developers working on both small and large projects to analyze business needs and translate these into solutions within the established SAS estate. You will have the opportunity to work with more modern cloud-based data solutions, such as Azure and Data Factory. You will also deliver repeatable operational processes to be standardized and fully documented, driving the use of common tools, terminology, and skills.
In this role, you can expect to conduct testing of code and design to ensure it meets functional and non-functional requirements. You will also provide a broad range of in-depth technical guidance to key stakeholders and colleagues to shape solutions. In addition, you will provide coach and support less experienced colleagues, undertake reviews of specific pieces of work with colleagues, and more.
What are we looking for?
Ideally, you will have experience coding using SAS with technical knowledge of SAS data warehouse design. You will be an effective communicator, analytically inclined, and great at working in a team (and with other teams). Experience in the Life and Pensions industry and/or financial change teams is desirable, and familiarity with code development would be advantageous.
We Want To Hire The Whole Version Of You.
We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.
If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.
