Job Description

Metro Global is looking for an experienced Frontend Developer to support the development and delivery of strategic product facelifts. The role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and technical constraints, building UI for new applications and enhancing existing ones, focusing on UI/UX, continuously improving front-end service performance, staying up to date with UI trends and technologies, and experimenting with new solutions.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Software Engineering position and a strong understanding of the full development lifecycle for user-centered digital solutions. They should have proven expertise in front-end product development using HTML/CSS/JavaScript and Angular front-end frameworks. Experience with Dev Extreme/DevExpress UI controls, tools, and frameworks is also required. Additionally, candidates should have a detailed understanding of cross-browser and cross-device issues, familiarity with browser testing and debugging, and knowledge of web performance, accessibility, and web security best practices.

Other requirements include strong design sense, experience with sourcing and managing UI assets, proficiency in Microsoft Visual Studio and Azure App Services, and experience with web development and consuming RESTful APIs. A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is also preferred.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

Desirable skills for this role include experience with JQuery, C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, SQL/T-SQL, Azure hosted and managed instance databases, and Xamarin Mobile Development. An understanding of Supply Chain and Freight is also beneficial.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in an Agile environment and possess the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. They should also be self-starters, result-oriented, meticulous, and demonstrate attention to detail. Problem-solving skills, the ability to work to tight deadlines, and a willingness to learn and develop are also important for this role.
