Job Description

The Royal College of Art is seeking a Marketing Designer to work within their Communications and Marketing team. The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Designing a range of publications and materials according to the RCA’s brand guidelines and to agreed timescales.
  • Creating various assets for the RCA’s social media and digital channels.
  • Liaising with external agencies, printers, and media buyers to ensure the correct format and timely production of materials.
  • Supporting the Publishing Manager with the printing of materials.
  • Building a working knowledge of the RCA’s image assets and selecting the best images for each publication or design.
  • Responding to design queries and advising colleagues on best practices.
  • Contributing to the development of criteria and processes for designed deliverables.

Requirements

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Experience in designing publications and materials, ideally within an arts or design environment.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and the ability to create assets for digital channels.
  • An understanding of branding and ability to work within brand guidelines.

Other Information

  • This is a part-time position, working 21 hours per week on a fixed-term contract for 6 months.
  • The role is based at the RCA’s facility in Kensington/Hybrid.
