Job Description
Hearts & Minds, the home of Clowndoctors and Elderflowers, are looking to recruit a new Artistic Director to lead our team of therapeutic clown artists as we approach 25 years of the Clowndoctors. In 2024, Hearts & Minds will be marking 25 years delivering therapeutic clowning across health care units, schools for children with complex needs, and hospices. This is an exciting time to join Hearts & Minds as we look to grow and develop our Clowndoctor and Elderflower programs across Scotland. We are looking for a dynamic artistic leader who is committed to the delivery and promotion of therapeutic clowning. The Artistic Director will work closely with the CEO to implement the long-term strategy for the charity. You will be the artistic lead for the organization, setting its artistic style and vision, creating the artistic strategy, defining training needs, and providing ongoing artistic training to maintain the high standards of therapeutic clown delivery.
You will be an Ambassador for Hearts & Minds, supporting the CEO. You will have demonstrable experience in leading an artistic team, in Theatre Clowning, and an interest in arts in both healthcare and social settings.

Other Information
Salary: circa £35k pro rata
Hours: 3 days (21 hours). Flexible working available
Location: Edinburgh office and we work in various locations across Scotland
