Job Description

UW Medicine Strategic Marketing & Communications is seeking a Temporary Content Manager, with experience in videography and photography, to lead our visual content creation efforts. This role involves overseeing high-quality video and photo content production, executing photo and video shoots, managing a Content Producer, and ensuring alignment with our brand’s vision and strategy.

The Content Manager reports to the Brand and Content Services Director and is responsible for the development and execution of UW Medicine’s video and photography brand assets. This includes planning photo and video shoots, taking photos and videos, engaging with vendors and talent, and managing a digital asset library.

The position requires creativity, storytelling, and editing skills to produce well-executed videos and photography. We are seeking someone comfortable owning the whole process, from coordinating shoots to digital asset management. This role requires understanding of how video and photography are used to tell a brand story. It also requires a mission-driven focus and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion when developing content. Knowledge of content marketing is highly desirable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, film editing or related degree AND a minimum of 5 years’ experience creating and producing videos or photography.
  • Possess strong creative and storytelling skills.
  • Experience with lighting in a variety of environments.
  • Experience with color grading with Adobe Premiere Pro for the finished videos.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Experience working with and coordinating talent.
  • Experience in pre-production, production, and post-production processes.
  • Experience with all production equipment, including audio and lighting equipment for off-location and studio production.
  • Knowledge of various video cameras and video equipment.
  • Experience developing and managing budgets for video/film shoots as needed.
  • Knowledge of video, audio, and motion graphics technologies.
  • Ability to multitask several creative projects.
  • Experience using video and audio editing software and programs.
  • Ability to think up creative ideas to promote a brand in innovative ways.

Additional Information

This position allows for a hybrid telework schedule. Remote work is allowed but must attend in-office days at the South Lake Union office, currently held once per month, plus additional required meetings or other events at the manager’s discretion.

The position may travel to various locations to gather information and assist with activities.

The position maintains regular office hours Monday through Friday and occasional evening and weekend work to assist with communications or events.

This is an essential position, meaning the individual is required to report to work when the University is under suspended operations due to inclement weather, etc.
