Job Description

A boutique communications agency with a strong presence in strategic outreach is seeking a motivated and energetic Graphic Illustrator. The Graphic Illustrator will primarily support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) by working with the Public Affairs Office (PAO) and Information Resilience Office (IRO). Responsibilities include concept design, production, and release of printed and electronic materials, collaborating with internal and external subject matter experts, creating content such as news releases and social media products, proofreading and editing materials, and creating illustrations that align with agency messaging.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in communications, graphic design, or related field preferred; or five (5) years of related experience
• Minimum five (5) years of prior demonstrated experience with communications
• Experience in Cybersecurity or Information Security is ideal
• Proficient with document and presentation software (Microsoft Office, Google Docs, etc.)
• Proficient in virtual meeting structures and project management tools (Zoom, Teams, Asana, Trello, etc.)
• Proficient with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.)
• Strong project and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
• Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines
• Must have a Secret Level US Security Clearance
• Full fluency in English
• Ability to relocate to Fort Belvoir, VA 22060 before starting work

Work Environment

• Hybrid setting, primarily remote with occasional work at the main office
• Uses standard office equipment

Physical Demands

Largely sedentary role.

Expected Hours of Work

Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This may vary depending on project timeline.

Travel

Work will be primarily virtual with some on-site work at DTRA Headquarters in Fort Belvoir, VA 22060. Occasional international travel may be required.
