Job Description:
The Software Dev Engineer II/III will work with other DaSL staff to build and share efficient software and support CI/testing of software created by DaSL. This position will work on the Open Cancer Informatics program and develops software and tooling to facilitate data manipulation and data formatting to feed and coordinate data between population health, cancer, and disease-related data. The person in this position will be expected to use the shiny web application framework and develop software packages in R. They will manage and maintain Open Cancer Informatics data pipelines, develop CI/testing approaches, publish R or Python packages on online open-source repositories, and collaborate closely with the Office for Community Outreach and Engagement.
Requirements:
Software Dev II:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Informatics, Biology, Molecular Biology or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3-6 years of directly related experience.
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of relational databases.
- Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts, data structures, and algorithms.
- Demonstrated prior experience with R, Python.
Software Dev III:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Informatics, Biology, Molecular Biology or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of directly related experience.
- Sharp analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Quick and iterative design skills.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts, data structures, and algorithms.
- Demonstrated prior experience with R, Python.

The annual base salary range for the level II position is from $93,101 to $139,630 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. The annual base salary range for the level III position is from $109,637 to $173,264 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
