Job Description

As a Software Design Engineer, your responsibilities include:

  • Working in a team of highly skilled software engineers responsible for developing software that enables the miniaturization of semiconductor technology.
  • Using Agile methodology to develop software using C and/or C++ and Python.
  • Creating architecture and designs that are modular, scalable, and robust to meet customer requirements.
  • Performing unit testing and on-target testing to ensure high-quality standards.
  • Evaluating technical issues, risks, and dependencies for projects.
  • Interfacing with customers and stakeholders to gather requirements.
  • Verifying stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering.
  • 0-1 year of work experience (recent college graduates accepted).
  • Proficiency in the C or C++ language.
  • Knowledge or hands-on experience with software/technical tools such as ClearCase, Jira, and Bash.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to influence others and collaborate effectively.
  • Preferred experience writing unit tests or auto tests using Python or Google Test.

Other Information

This position is located on-site in Wilton, CT and requires an on-site presence to attend in-person work-related events, training, and meetings. A flexible workplace arrangement may be available for remote work up to two days a week.

Role within Office - Essential Job Functions

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Working in a fast-paced office environment, including standing or seated position for long periods.
  • Commute to ASML’s facility and report to work regularly and on time.
  • Performing office tasks using computer keyboarding and other tools.
  • Having sufficient ability to communicate effectively.
  • Lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds occasionally.
  • Possible domestic and/or international travel based on business needs.
