Job Description:
Belcan is hiring a R&D Engineer (Automation & Mechatronics) in Tempe, AZ. As a R&D Engineer, your main responsibility will be developing new designs and fabrication processes for lightweight and flexible photovoltaic modules. You will also assist in transitioning these processes and designs to a new mass production line. This includes running baseline production lots, maintaining manufacturing tools, troubleshooting tool failures, developing new module designs and assembly processes, and transferring R&D processes to large-scale manufacturing tools.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related fields with 2+ years of experience
- Experience in conceptual design, build up, and validation of integrated electromechanical machines or systems incorporating new or experimental technology
- Hands-on problem solving skills
- Experience working with CAD software
- Experience with automation
- Experience with data acquisition and processing of electrical telemetry
- Ability to manipulate small objects with high precision by hands
- Ability to work in a class 1,000 clean room environment
- Ready to work in a dynamic environment
- Previous experience working with solar cells is a strong plus
