Job Description:
Data Agility is seeking an experienced Data Engineer/ETL Developer to join our team in Melbourne for a 3-month contract starting in mid-February. The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting reporting interfaces, tools, and solutions
- Designing data warehouse facts and dimensions
- Guiding and assisting developers in building data models
- Analyzing, tuning, optimizing, and developing ETL processes for new and existing data sources
- Identifying, analyzing, and resolving data quality problems
- Performing ad hoc queries, analysis, and reporting
- Assisting functional analysts in diagnosing the impact of system changes on reports
- Ensuring the adherence of reporting interfaces and assets to privacy and security standards
- Troubleshooting and fixing bugs, working closely with testers
Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as an ETL Developer
- Experience with Microsoft Azure data products including Azure SQL, Data Factory, and Data Lake
- Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, and Azure SQL Warehouse
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure Active Directory
- Experience in writing complex queries, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, etc.
- Experience in Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in unit testing and automation for data quality
- Experience in implementing database structures, data marts, data stores, and data lakes
- Experience analyzing large volumes of data and establishing data flow models and mappings (desirable)
- Experience in performance tuning and resource-efficient data modeling (desirable)
- Must be well-presented with outstanding communication skills
- Candidates must be based in Melbourne
- Working arrangements are hybrid but may require client visits two to three days per week
