Contract: Part Time

Job Description

This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of all Wheaton Park District websites. This includes publishing visually appealing, accessible content that provides the best user experience possible while being able to manage and troubleshoot any technical issues that might arise.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate degree or equivalent
  • At least one (1) year of hands-on experience using PHP, HTML, CSS, WordPress and macOS
  • Proficiency in publishing content that meets WCAG 2.1 standards
  • Able to consistently meet deadlines while producing quality work
  • Exceptional attention to detail, written and verbal communication, organization and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work with limited supervision or collaborate as a team
  • Familiarity with Campaign Monitor, Wrike, SmugMug, graphic design, and photography skills are a plus

Essential Functions

  • Process and complete incoming web requests accurately and in a timely manner for the Marketing Department and other departments within the District
  • Perform maintenance and updates on sites to keep them running smoothly
  • Test content to ensure WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines are met
  • Create and test email communications as needed
  • Assist Creative Services Manager with additional assignments as needed
  • Complete quality control checks on all work to ensure accuracy and functionality
  • Work with creative team to maintain branding in all collateral
  • Perform proofing as you work to ensure vital and accurate information is published
  • Keep up with trends, best practices and make recommendations to Creative Services Team
  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers, coworkers, district staff, the Executive Director, and the Board of Commissioners
  • Contribute to a feedback rich environment
  • Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer
  • Follow the Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis
  • Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures

Required Certifications, Licenses, Etc.

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • CPR/AED certified or obtain within one (1) year of employment

Physical Demands

This position must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods with frequent repetitive hand/arm movements such as when working on a computer. This position must also be able to occasionally move objects weighing up to 25 lbs. This position will be required to move about the facility to access office equipment, etc.

Salary

$19.00 - $21.00 per hour, DOE

Hours

16-20 per week
