Job Description

Candidates will work under the direction of the project’s Technical Lead and Application Architect to write, test, and document code to implement system features and enhancements. The role involves UI/UX design tasks such as wireframing, prototyping, style guide development, and implementation. It requires expertise in responsive and mobile-first design, SaaS UI design patterns and interactions, as well as proficiency in tools like Axure, Sketch, Adobe XD, Visual Studio, VS Code, Azure DevOps, and Git.

Requirements

Required skills include:

  • 8+ years of experience in HTML5, CSS3 including Bootstrap, JavaScript
  • 8+ years of experience in wireframing and prototyping
  • 8+ years of experience in style guide development and implementation
  • 8+ years of expertise in responsive and mobile-first design
  • 8+ years of experience with SaaS UI design patterns and interactions
  • Proficiency in tools like Axure, Sketch, Adobe XD, Visual Studio, VS Code, Azure DevOps, and Git
  • Required knowledge and experience include:
  • Knowledge of digital accessibility and disability inclusion
  • Knowledge of regulations related to digital accessibility (e.g., Section 508, ADA)
  • Experience creating user experience and interaction designs meeting accessibility guidelines
  • Experience designing for platform technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, iOS, Android)
  • Experience conducting accessible and inclusive user research and testing for visual designs

Additional Information

  • Contract position with a work schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
  • Work location is primarily remote, but candidates must be available for in-person meetings
  • Selected candidates will need to report in person for an interview and equipment pick-up at PennDOT’s offices in Harrisburg, PA
  • Selected candidates must provide a completed PATCH check and work authorization prior to engagement
  • On-site work location is a secured floor and candidates must pay $20 for a badge on the first day of work
