Job Description:

Experienced copy editor with K-12 instructional materials experience needed to work on client’s online platform. Must have LMS experience, work on various subjects/grade levels, ensure editorial quality/consistency, collaborate with project teams, maintain style consistency, and identify/correct errors in content/images.

Responsibilities include fixing typographical errors, editing grammar/punctuation/syntax, adapting content for the UK audience, reviewing against client style guide, proofreading alt text, using project management tools to track work status.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree, keen eye for grammar/spelling/style, experience with client style guides and Chicago Manual of Style, editing/proofreading skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Docs/Sheets, ability to multitask in fast-paced environment, familiarity with Zoom/Google Meet, successful performance on copyediting test or prior experience, knowledge of editorial processes/workflows.

Scope of Work involves reviewing instructional materials on the platform/documents for spelling/grammar/tone consistency, maintaining style/formatting, following checklist/client style guide, attending internal meetings for training.

Materials Provided:

Access/links to project management tool and client’s online platform, client style guide, copy editor checklist, client’s writing guidelines, training materials, and assorted reference materials on project’s editorial drive.
