Job Description

As a Freelance Quba Designer, your main responsibilities will include:

• Create unique, innovative, and distinct brand handwriting for women’s clothing and accessories, menswear, and homeware when required
• Produce high-quality designs using computer-aided design programs
• Utilize relevant research for each season’s product range, including themes, colors, fabrics, and patterns
• Display proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop
• Stay updated with industry trends, market changes, and competitor activities
• Create distinctive and commercial prints that align with the Quba brand
• Prepare technical packs for suppliers, detailing fabric types, sizes, and measurements
• Assist in managing and organizing samples
• Ensure accuracy in fit sessions and sample measurements reflected in technical packs
• Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all areas of design and branding
• Handle filing and record-keeping tasks

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the following qualifications and skills are essential:

• Understanding of fabric and garment construction
• Proficiency in CAD software and design tools like Illustrator and Photoshop
• Ability to meet critical path deadlines
• Good eye for detail and branding
• Knowledge of blocks and measurements for designing accurate samples
• Capability to adapt designs to the Quba brand and customer preferences
• Experience in creating brand-appropriate designs for clothing and accessories
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week

Work Location: In person

Ability to commute/relocate to Stockport before starting work (required)
