Job Description
The Sound Technician at Emerson College will be responsible for supporting the sound area for the academic year, primarily for Emerson Stage productions. They will work closely with student sound technicians to implement designs and support student sound designers for 8 productions during the season.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for the Sound Technician role should have a strong desire to work in an academic environment with students of varying levels of sound experience. They should possess a BA/BFA in Sound, Theatre, or Production, along with 1 to 3 years of experience in theatre or theatre education.
Other Duties
- Teaching a class in audio engineering, system design, etc., based on curricular needs and enrollment.
- Opportunities for sound design for a production and serving as a Production Sound Engineer based on need and skill level.
Compensation
- Production Duties: $18,000 per season.
- Teaching, designing, and production sound engineering are paid per project.
