Job Description

Amazon is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Web Development Engineer to join the EU Prime team on a 12-month fixed term contract in London or Madrid. EU Prime and Marketing WDEs provide technical content support to Content Marketers for content testing and Product Managers for product launches. They utilize their knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript and relevant frameworks) and content management systems (CMS) to deliver experiences to customers across various marketplaces, browsers, and device types.

The role requires industry-leading technical abilities in web development, including design, testing, version control, documentation, build, deployment, and operations. The engineer is expected to use web development technology to solve customer-facing business problems and work towards team goals using web development engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional web development experience.

• Experience with web development technologies including HTML and CSS.

• Experience programming with at least one modern web language such as JavaScript or TypeScript.

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Support marketers and product managers in launching customer experiences for millions of Prime subscribers worldwide.

• Build high quality, global scale customer experiences using Amazon standard UI frameworks.

• Demonstrate industry-leading technical capabilities across the development lifecycle, from design to support.

• Implement quality front-end code across customer-facing websites with an eye toward performance, accessibility, and industry best practices.

• Develop fully responsive CSS/HTML templates and website experiences.

• Partner globally across teams and with leadership to align initiatives with business goals.

• Maintain core marketing tech stack and act as a technical liaison.
