Location: New York, NY

Contract: Full-time, Contractor, Contractor

Job Description

Smart Design is looking for a Freelance Mid to Sr-level Backend Developer (Machine Learning/Python) to work across two exciting client projects. The role will tentatively start as soon as possible and will continue through the end of the year. It will be remote, but if it transitions to full-time, the role will be based in NYC.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years full-time or freelance experience in Python with a specialty in machine learning
  • Experience with open-source computer vision object detection models such as Yolo, ResNet, DETR, etc.
  • Experience in Machine Learning/Data Science frameworks such as Pandas, Numpy, Sci-kit and/or OpenCV
  • Experience in working with annotation platforms such as AWS Ground Truth, Voxel51, Scale/Nucleus etc.
  • Experience with Python-based ML training and inference pipelines
  • Experience working in Jupyter Notebooks
  • Understanding of AWS infrastructure and suite of products
  • Understanding of agile processes

Nice To Haves:

  • Familiarity with robotics software frameworks such as ROS
  • Experience with AWS Sagemaker (especially “Bring-Your-Own-Model”)
  • Experience with Flask, Django, and other web technologies
  • Experience with Ruby
  • Familiarity programming within an Ubuntu Linux environment and embedded programming environments
  • Familiarity with Docker

Additional Information

Rate will be dependent on experience level, but will range between $75-125/hour.
