Job Description

Zynga, one of the largest and most innovative mobile game development studios, is seeking an experienced Lead Game Designer for the recently launched Game of Thrones Legends. This role involves leading and contributing to the design and creative input on content and features, along with mentoring some designers. The Lead Game Designer will work within interdisciplinary teams to innovate and iterate player-focused designs.

Responsibilities

• Create or adapt leading game features to enhance existing games.
• Pitch new ideas to the team and facilitate brainstorming sessions.
• Tune and model complex systems using Excel.
• Lead a design team and analyze real-time feedback and metrics to adjust game designs.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and artists to manage implementation of new features.
• Describe user experience stories and create wireframe screens and flows.
• Stay current with Game Design literature and methodologies to advocate for Game Design.
• Promote the player’s experience and optimal gameplay.

Requirements

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Expertise in math, levels, and formulas within game environments.
• Extensive knowledge of games and strategies, especially in balancing and pacing.
• Management experience with a design team.
• Ability to translate consumer insights and market data into design solutions.
• Passionate gamer with experience on live games.
• At least 2 shipped games to demonstrate experience.
• Proficiency in Unity and GitHub preferred; familiarity with game engines and source control required.
• Game programming background and mobile RPG experience preferred.
