Job Description
Intervenant.e/Animateur.trice jeunesse is a role at Villeray dans l’Est, an organization focused on promoting various activities, citizen participation, and the emergence of citizen initiatives. The organization works closely with the community to foster a sense of belonging and improve living conditions for the population of Villeray affected by different forms of social and economic exclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, welcome, and listen to youth aged 13 to 23 years old;
- Facilitate and coordinate a committee made by and for the youth;
- Develop, organize, and implement activities and special projects in collaboration with the youth, addressing specific challenges;
- Refer youth to qualified resources as needed;
- Collaborate with community partners to improve the living conditions of youth and to prevent incivilities, delinquency, and criminal acts among youth;
- Represent the organization in various community instances;
- Write various reports, summaries, and promotional documents related to activities;
- Prepare reports and summaries of activities;
- Support the implementation of the activity programming for Villeray dans l’Est;
- Participate in other related tasks within the organization.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Training related to social intervention (university or college level) or significant work experience with youth;
- Experience in facilitation;
- Understanding of the community environment and social issues;
- Knowledge of the cultural communities in the neighborhood is an asset;
- Good communication skills in French; knowledge of other languages is a plus;
- Writing skills;
- Computer skills (Office Suite, Canva, etc.).

- Good skills in mobilizing youth and ability to encourage the emergence of ideas;
- Being autonomous, organized, and diligent;

Working Conditions
Schedule: 20 to 23 hours per week (Mainly in the evenings and occasionally on weekends);
Hourly Rate: $22 to $24 depending on experience;
Start Date: As soon as possible.
