Job Title: Senior Interaction Designer

Contract Type: Outside IR35
Location: Hybrid (2 days a week on-site in Newcastle)
Clearance Requirement: BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Interaction Designer to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. This role involves crafting user-centric, engaging interfaces and experiences that align with user needs and business objectives. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and user-friendly solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Development:
  Develop and iterate interaction design concepts based on a deep understanding of user needs, business requirements, and technical constraints.

• Wireframing & Prototyping:
  Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and detailed design specifications to effectively communicate design ideas to stakeholders.

• User Research & Testing:
  Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and refine solutions based on feedback.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs are successfully implemented and meet project goals.

• Design System Management:
  Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems and guidelines to ensure design consistency and scalability.

• Industry Awareness:
  Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in interaction design and UX to bring innovative solutions to the team.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or other similar tools.
• In-depth understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
• Ability to solve complex design problems and a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work seamlessly with diverse teams.
• Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus, although not mandatory.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in interaction design or a related role.
• Proven experience in creating wireframes, interactive prototypes, and detailed design documentation.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of interaction design projects and processes.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines to ensure inclusive design practices.
