Job Description

As a UX/UI designer, you will design the end-to-end journeys for the company’s suite of B2B applications. You will work on multiple products and play a lead role in product design and development. Acting as a visible and engaged partner to senior stakeholders, you will become a trusted advisor on meeting organizational needs and challenges. You will be expected to solve complex problems using evidence of user needs and organizational outcomes while maintaining responsiveness to new developments within UX design and testing. Additionally, you will design, implement, and advocate for a set of principles, standards, and processes for UX design across the suite of applications, influencing the direction and future of UX design within the company.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a UX/UI designer.
  • Portfolio of work, ideally demonstrating experience with B2B applications.
  • Ability to document, communicate, and implement UX/UI design standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze failures and identify root causes.
  • Experience in leading design and working on complex projects.
  • Ability to create rigorous methodologies to understand and improve user experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in incorporating emerging technologies into design processes.
  • Strong collaboration skills with developers, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Capability to conduct thorough user research and identify user needs.
  • Educating and supporting junior colleagues in UX and UI design is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Documenting, communicating, and implementing UX/UI design standards.
  • Assessing technology impacts on users and the business.
  • Leading design initiatives on complex or systemic projects.
  • Analyzing product failures and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Creating, improving, and documenting design components and interactions.
  • Championing the UX design program with senior management.
  • Creating and iterating prototypes rapidly.

Key Activities

  • Creating rigorous methodologies for monitoring and improving user experience.
  • Incorporating emerging technologies into design processes.
  • Advising and supporting cross-functional project teams.
  • Maintaining a context-agnostic and flexible design system.
  • Maintaining domain and business knowledge.
  • Identifying and raising defects, as well as educating junior colleagues.
  • Interpreting evidence-based research to inform design decisions.
  • Identifying and designing new UX patterns and standards.

Additional Information

This role offers a salary ranging from £40,000 to £60,000 depending on experience and is a permanent position with the option for remote work or flexibility to work from the Birmingham office.
