Job Description

This is a call for general applications for when a freelance role opens in the future. KRAFTON is dedicated to identifying and publishing games worldwide that offer a uniquely enjoyable experience, crafted by our globally recognized production studios known for their distinctive creativity. We are looking for talented freelance Capture Artists to work full-time at our new El Segundo, California studio. This role requires you to be in the office three days a week and allows remote work for two days. This freelance job may lead to a permanent position in the future.

Requirements

Ideal candidates should be creative, technically skilled, and passionate about video games. A love for filmmaking and strong skills in framing shots are important. Candidates should have:

  • Good attention to detail and the ability to follow directions well.
  • A good eye for video quality and shot composition.
  • Advanced knowledge of video capture and editing.
  • Enthusiasm, teamwork skills, and eagerness to grow in the video game industry.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and other Creative Suite tools (After Effects, Media Encoder, etc.).
  • Experience in recording gameplay directly from game builds or using replay tools.
  • Knowledge of game debugging systems and experience with KRAFTON games like PUBG on PC.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to assist in planning video content.
  • Understanding of Bitrate, Bit Depth, and general Video Production Pipeline.
  • At least one year of experience in capturing video for games or at an agency.

Extra skills that are beneficial include:

  • Background in marketing.
  • Experience in creating game analysis videos.
  • A serious gamer with deep knowledge of the gaming industry.
  • Familiarity with sequencing tools in Unreal or Unity engines.
  • Real-world experience in cinematography or photography.
  • Understanding of the game development process.

Responsibilities

  • Help plan and develop projects.
  • Record gameplay and other in-game content for trailers and promotional videos.
  • Work with other capture artists to create promotional materials.
  • Select shots and prepare bins for the video editor.
  • Collect and organize video files, encode and decode raw footage into various usable formats.

Benefits

The expected hourly range for this position is $35/hr. - $52/hr. The actual pay may depend on various job-related factors including experience, education, skills, and location.
