Job Description

Echtra Games is looking for a Senior Gameplay Animator to join our growing team on a new AAA cross-platform ARPG project. The Senior Animator will create a wide range of animations for various characters and creatures to add life and personality to the in-game world. Successful candidates will have the ability to work both independently and cooperatively with the Animation Director, artists, and game designers to support the artistic vision of the project.

The main responsibilities include providing gameplay animation for human, creature, and mechanical-based characters, as well as closely collaborating with the Animation Director to ensure the game’s design needs are met and improved upon through animation sequences between Maya and the Unreal game engine.

Requirements

Qualifications include:

• A demonstration reel showcasing a strong understanding of animation principles.
• 3+ years of industry experience as an Animator within a Maya-based pipeline.
• Excellent communication skills to facilitate team dynamics and iteration based on feedback from the Director.
• A self-motivated artist with a great team-player attitude who is passionate about animation.
• Demonstrated use and understanding of the Unreal Game engine.

Pluses:

• Ability to demonstrate various animation styles from realistic to snappy pose-to-pose.
• Experience processing and incorporating Motion Capture into sequences.
• Experience building animation suites to support motion matching.
• Experience animating with Meta Human and/or other complex facial systems.
• An ability to communicate visually through drawings or paintovers.
• A passion for games and visual storytelling.
• A commitment to high-quality work, never satisfied with “good enough.”
