Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Content Design Manager to lead a talented team and elevate content strategy, design systems, and cross-functional collaboration across our client’s organization. This position reports to a GM and requires someone with deep expertise in content design and strategy. The role offers a salary of $180,000 - $200,000 + Super + Bonus and is preferred to be based in Melbourne, although it is remote-friendly for candidates within Australia.

The Senior Content Design Manager will lead a team of 4-6 direct reports, which includes two Content Design Managers and oversee an additional 8-12 indirect reports, including Content Principals. Responsibilities include driving leadership in content design, collaborating with design systems teams, and managing upward by educating senior stakeholders in a regulated, clinical-focused space.

Requirements

• Proven leadership experience in content design, strategy, and operations, preferably in a highly regulated industry.

• Expertise in information architecture, content modeling, and design systems integration.

• Strong ability to manage and influence stakeholders at all levels, particularly in environments where content expertise is emerging.

• Experience growing and managing high-performing teams, fostering innovation, and maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement content strategies, including content modeling for CAAS (Content-as-a-Service).

• Build and refine information architecture to ensure clarity and usability across touchpoints.

• Oversee content governance, operations, and team development to maintain high standards and efficient workflows.

• Act as a mentor and coach, amplifying the impact of direct reports while staying hands-on with strategy and operational decisions.
