Job Description

Join our IT team as a Front-End Software Development Engineer, where you will work on billions of transactions that have a significant impact every second of every day. As a Junior Front End Engineer, collaborate with our User Experience team to create innovative, user-friendly online applications. You will engage in a variety of activities including hack-a-thons, university partnerships for innovation, and work with our Stamford Innovation Station. Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or a High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of professional web application development experience.
• Experience in React single page web app development is mandatory.
• Ability to think critically and solve problems creatively.
• Must be 18 years or older and have legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• Willingness to undergo a drug test, background investigation, and fingerprint submission during onboarding.
• Must satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

Responsibilities

The Front-End Software Development Engineer will be responsible for:

• Building web applications using ReactJS, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Collaborating with cross-shore development teams to influence and enhance the online user experience.
• Participating in agile sprints with cross-functional teams including planning, daily standups, backlog grooming sessions, and reviews.
• Analyzing production defects, troubleshooting issues, identifying root causes, and implementing fixes.
• Working with third-party vendors to develop software and integrate solutions into our products.
• Executing other assigned duties and special projects as needed.

Legal and Compliance Requirements

New hires (Level 4-7) must complete 9 months of continuous service before they can apply for different roles. Level 8 or greater employees must have 18 months in position before applying. Performance expectations must be consistently met, with approval from managers required for internal applications.

Benefits

Synchrony offers flexibility in work arrangements including the option to work from home or come into offices. The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $120,000 annually, and it is eligible for annual bonuses based on performance. Compensation will depend on work experience and skill level, with specific adjustments based on market conditions in CA, NY Metro, and Seattle.
